Some Self Claims the Bible Makes

I finished reading a book this morning that often twisted and distorted the Word of God so I had to refresh my mind and soul with the self claims the Bible makes about itself.

This God—his way is perfect; the word of the Lord proves true; he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him. (2 Samuel 22:31)

This God—his way is perfect; the word of the Lord proves true; he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him. (Psalm 18:30)

The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; the precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes; the fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the rules of the Lord are true, and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb. Moreover, by them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward. (Psalm 19:7-11)

Every word of God proves true;he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. (Proverbs 30:5)

The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever. (Isaiah 40:8)

But it is not as though the word of God has failed. For not all who are descended from Israel belong to Israel, (Romans 9:6)

and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, (Ephesians 6:17)

And we also thank God constantly for this, that when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is, the word of God, which is at work in you believers. (1 Thessalonians 2:13)

or which I am suffering, bound with chains as a criminal. But the word of God is not bound! (2 Timothy 2:9)

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12)

and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, (Hebrews 6:5)

since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God; (1 Peter 1:23)

Some texts that talk about our responsibility to this amazing Word of God

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth. (2 Timothy 2:15)

But we have renounced disgraceful, underhanded ways. We refuse to practice cunning or to tamper with God’s word, but by the open statement of the truth we would commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God. (2 Corinthians 4:2)

of which I became a minister according to the stewardship from God that was given to me for you, to make the word of God fully known, (Colossians 1:25)

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God (Colossians 3:16)
