He Has Granted Us All Things – Promises From God’s Word 6.9.2011

2 Peter 1 :3-4 “His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.”

God’s has granted to us by His divine power access to all things that pertain to life and godliness. I say access because not all of us exercise these gifts we are given. Where do we learn about all the things that pertain to life and godliness? How do we obtain these great things He has granted to us? Here are a few clues.

Where do we the knowledge of God and His calling on us, His glory, and His excellence?

Where do we find God’s precious and very great promises?

Where do we learn how to escape the corruption of the world?

The answer to all three is the Bible. You have access to all things that pertain to life and godliness and God has granted them to you, the question is whether you are capitalizing on that or not. Consult God’s Word for every decision and every situation. Try doing it today, when something comes up in your life today run to His Word and cling to what it tells you. Do you need wisdom run to Proverbs, do you need encouragement run to the Psalms, do you need to know how Jesus responded go to the gospels, are you struggling with your flesh go to Romans 5-8.
