Things Jesus Knew from John 3:16

 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
(John 3:16 ESV)

Some things Jesus must have know to utter this phrase

  1. God loves man
  2. God is willing to express His love at great cost to Himself
  3. Man left on his own is destined to perish
  4. God needs to intervene to save man from destruction otherwise he will perish
  5. God sent Jesus to save man
  6. God thought it a worthy venture to send Jesus to die and save those who would believe, so did Jesus
  7. Jesus does not save everybody, only those who believe
  8. Jesus knew some (most) would not believe and reject Him
  9. Jesus death burial and resurrection would be sufficient in and of itself to save those who will believe
  10. Jesus is the singular way to God
  11. Jesus is the Son of God and therefore is putting Himself on the same plane as God, Jesus is God
  12. Jesus is the expression of God’s amazing love

Some things you must know

  1. You are a sinner who by nature is destined to perish
  2. You need God to intervene in your life and save you from perishing
  3. God has intervened and the expression of that is the life, death, burial, and resurrection of His Son Jesus
  4. Jesus lived the life you should have and died the death you deserved to die
  5. Jesus died so that you would not have to, He died so that you may live
  6. If you place your faith in the amazing life, death, burial, and resurrection of Christ He will save you
  7. If you entrust yourself to Christ you will not eternally perish but instead eternally live
  8. But, if you deny Christ (as many do) you are destined to perish
  9. Eternal life andf death are before you
  10. Today is the day of salvation
  11. Turn to Christ
